Press Invitation

Presentation of the publication
« LUXEMBOURG EN POCHE » A POCKET GUIDE TO LUXEMBOURG FOR NEWCOMERS
and the accompanying MOBILE APPLICATION « LUX EN POCHE »
at the 35th Festival des Migrations, des Cultures et de la Citoyenneté, LuxExpo

PRESS BRIEFING : Saturday 3 March 2018 at 16h00
at Reech eng Hand/Église catholique (Hall n°2, stand 52)

PRESENTATION : Saturday 3 March 2018, from 17h00 to 18h30 (Entrée nord, salle 2)

Reech eng Hand (an initiative of the Luxembourg Catholic Church to welcome and accompany refugees), will present « Luxembourg en Poche - A pocket guide to Luxembourg for newcomers » published in two formats : French-Arabic and English-Farsi. The guide is accompanied by an interactive mobile application « LUX en poche » developed by the ErwuesseBildung asbl (a state approved non profit organisation dedicated to the personal development and media literacy of adults).

This project was funded by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte (mateneen programme) and its primary aim is to inform applicants and beneficiaries of international protection about the fundamentals of society (history, politics, economy, culture ...) and everyday life in Luxembourg (working, housing, moving around ...).

Presented in pocket format, with photos and statistical data, the guide and the application are intended to be integration tools, as well as a help for social workers and volunteers. Longer term residents will also find them useful.
A solidarity-based sales strategy « Buy One, Give One » will contribute to the continuation of the project.

The press kit (in French, English and German) will be distributed at the press briefing and at the presentation that follows. Interviews in French, Luxembourgish and English will also be possible during the press briefing.
